Note that in "15 generations of Whipples - descendants of Matthew Whipple of Ipswich, Massachusetts, abt. 1590-1647" Volume II page G31 and G73 a daughter of Henry Short and Sarah Whipple named Anna (not Hannah) is noted as being born 28 Mar 1682. Anna is noted as marrying Thomas Hale Jr.

Obviously this conflicts with what is in "A genealogical dictionary of the first settlers of New England showing three generations of those who came before May, 1692, on the basis of Farmer's Register" by James Savage, Volume IV, Page 89. The information from this source is:

Henry, Newbury, son of the preceding freeman 1677, married 30 Mar. 1674, Sarah Whipple, had Mary, born 22 Aug. 1675; Sarah, 1 Aug. 1677 ; John, 14 Dec. 1679, died young; HanĀnah, 28 Mar. 1682 ; John, again, 13 Oct. 1685; Matthew, 14 Mar. 1688, Harvard College 1707 ; Lydia, 7 May 1690, died next yr. ; and his wife died 28 Dec. 1691. He married 11 May 1692, Ann, daughter of Henry Sewall, widow of William Longfellow, and had Jane, 4 Mar. 1693; Samuel, 18 Nov. 1694, died young; Mehitable, 12 Jan. 1696; Samuel, again, 16 Feb. 1698, died soon ; Samuel, again, 22 Feb. 1699 ; Hannah, 2 Mar. 1701, died soon; Joseph, 8 Apr. 1702 ; died 23 Oct. 1706.

The Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts record has
Annah, d. Henry [and Sarah. S. dup.], Mar. 28, 1682.
Could be misspelled Anna or Hannah.

After an analysis of my DNA matches for both Short and Whipple I found no matches to Henry Short, John Whipple, or Matthew Whipple. Thanks to the books "15 generations of Whipples..." many people have Whipple information in their trees and if I had a valid match, many Whipple names in this line would show up. But they do not.

Prior to 2/2/21 I assumed the Hannah Short/Henry Short connection was valid and entered as much data as I could find on the Short line. I done some work on the Whipple line but as of 2./2/21 I discontinued further research on the Whipple line since I now doubt that connection. Links and saved pages from the book "15 generations of Whipples..." were saved.

As of 2/2/21 I have unlinked Hannah Short from Henry Short RIN 1661 and Sarah Whipple RIN 1162. I have also removed the 28 Mar 1682 Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts birth date, although I did leave the sources for the information. I also left all the ancestors of Henry Short and Sarah Whipple I had previously enter although they will no longer be linked to Hannah Short.
