Rachel, dau. to James Garner and wife, baptized in infancy July 5, 1761

I have assumed a child less than one year of age is still considered an infant. But is is possible the Jun 1760 calculated birth date was based on an incorrect age at death and the real birth date is closer to the baptism date.

'I venture to say that this man was as stout as am,' was one of his favorite expressions. He was a cooper by trade, and made pails, churns and tubs. He was a man of great industry. Some said that his title of 'Major' was a nickname given by some unknown party. But he surely was brave and trusty."
