      LELIA (Lee) Powell
      Riverside, CA- Lelia (Lee) Powell, wife of the late Raymond Wilfred Powell for 62 years, died peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2017 in Riverside, California. Born May 12, 1919, Lee was the daughter of Ellene Jones and Thomas James Ray. She was a graduate of A. L. Miller High School and Georgia-Alabama Business College. Lee was employed for several years at Purdue & Williams Construction Company and Georgia Farm Bureau Marketing, after which she devoted herself completely to her family and homemaking. In later years, as a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Lee actively volunteered in several organizations including St. Monica's Guild, the Church Book Store, Sewing Group for Mother and Child Ministries, and The Cancer Pad Group.
      Lee is survived by two sons, Raymond W. Powell, Jr., Atlanta, Georgia and Thomas J. Powell (Camille Sanders), Riverside, California. Five grandchildren, Raymond W. Powell, III, T. Chase Powell (Kuan), Nathan Z. Powell (Kat), Kelly McRee, and Emily Votruba (Jirka), all of California. Also, seven great grandchildren in California. After residing in Macon for 93 years, Lee moved to Riverside in 2012 to live near Tom and Camille.
      Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Northgate, on March 25, 2017 at 11:30 AM. The family will receive guests at the Neel House, 730 College Street, Macon, GA. immediately following the ceremony.
