George was one of the early planters of Hingham and at the first distribution of land on Town (North) St., Sept. 18, 1635, a house-lot of five acres was granted to him. He also had a grant of ten acres at "Nutty hill" and thirteen shares in the common lands. The christian name of his wife was Sarah. She died in Hingham 26 March, 1694-95. He died 11 June, 1689. Will proved 20 Aug. following. "Shoemaker." Selectman in 1669 and 1678. Resided on North, near Beal St.
